Analog Kitchen Tools
There is something exciting about hand operated tools in the kitchen. I like using a mallet to crush nuts, or the sun to dry berries.A food processor can turn pecans into dust before you have a chance to stop it, while a mallet leaves texture behind: some pieces fine, some chunky, some still holding shape. In cooking, those small irregularities often matter. Knife, water, fire, hands, and time still do a lot of the best work.

Seasons in Central Texas
From strawberries and snap peas to peaches, persimmons, and local citrus — this post explores how seasonal produce in Central Texas drives my menus and connects me to the farms and people I source from. Cooking this way isn’t about restrictions. It’s about listening, adapting, and responding to what’s growing well right now.

The Healing Power of Food: Turmeric, Ginger, and Gut Health
This post explores some of my favorite healing ingredients — turmeric, ginger, coconut, and Thai lime — and how they’ve become cornerstones of my cooking. These ingredients don’t just add flavor; they support gut health, balance, and well-being. Whether it’s a broth, a sauce, or a juice shot, I come back to these elements again and again.
